I have a family, I build software, and this is not my profession. I am not a therapist or a teacher, I lead no one, and I do not advise anybody on what to do with their life. I built a tool I wanted for myself. I left it open because it seems pointless for someone else to have to build the same thing again.

In the womb I lost a twin — my sister. So the first question I could not answer for a long time reached me before I learned to speak: why me. When I began looking for answers in the old systems, I kept meeting the same thing everywhere — plenty of claims and almost no way to check them. I wanted a description that can be recomputed, not a prediction that has to be believed. That is the whole of Astroláb.

It takes a date, a time and a place of birth, computes where the planets stood at that instant, and shows what sixteen traditions read from it. Nothing here is foretold. No sentence here was written by an artificial intelligence — each is derived by rule from a number you can recompute. That is exactly why it works without internet and why you need no account. What you enter does not leave your browser unless you send an e-mail yourself. And what I do not know is written here as not knowing. The register of systems also names the ones you will not find here — and why you will not.

The Sun, ascendant, Moon, Human Design, life path, Chinese sign and Mayan kin are all computed. Recompute them here and you will get the same answer — that is what this site is for. Tarot cards and the mythological figures I sometimes use to name my own experience are not computed and do not belong here. This distinction is what the whole of Astroláb rests on, so I would rather say it out loud than leave it unsaid.
